Marked: Trifari with Crown, Sterling, Pat Pend
Reference: Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 2 p 184, dated 1944, marked Pat Pend like this piece, indicating a new patent was pursued but not issued. We have seen an example of this design (see TKF6967) stamped with the patent number for a rather different pre-sterling design (reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed Dec 1941, granted Feb 1942; and see TKF5905), presumably because no new exact patent was issued. Advertised for sale at Cherrys, price $25 plus tax, in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 1 Dec 1946, p 44; click thumbnail above to view advertisement. Reference Links - tkf6967 tkf5905
