Patent (for the matching pin clip) is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed Nov 1948, granted Jan 1949. Part of a series advertised for sale at the Broadway Stores, in the Los Angeles Times, 20 Feb 1949, p 72; click thumbnail above to view advertisement. These earrings were priced at $17.50 a pair (plus tax), with the matching pin clips at $15, at Olsen & Ebann, in The Kokomo [IN] Tribune, 21 Apr 1949, p 7
