Reference: Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 2 p 79, pictured, dated with reference to Patent 118758, of 1939-40 (and see TKF5135) - reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe. But this design was advertised for sale at JP Allen & Co in the Atlanta Constitution, 9 Feb 1941, along with five other new Trifari pins all with patents filed in Jan-Feb 1941; click thumbnail above to view advertisement. The pat pend mark on this piece suggests it is also from the Spring 1941 collection, and that a new patent was being applied for (but not pursued). Reference Links - tkf5135
