Reference: One of 'the most exciting' of the groups in the first Dior by Kramer collections, described in Women's Wear Daily, 1 June 1951 p 27, was the "Shadow Box", used in pins, bracelets, earrings and pendant necklaces, where 'a central giant stone cut in various shapes, from emerald to round, is set off by crystal rhinestones... mounted in tiers so that they frame the stone which appears recessed".
