The series was produced in consultation with Mme Schiaparelli, 'designed in Paris and made here', by Berne Inc, of Philadelphia PA - see Womens Wear Daily, 29 March 1957 p 11, 19 June 1957 p 12, 1 Nov 1957 p 18. Despite the advert's injunction to 'look for the signature on every piece', the lobster pin was apparently always unsigned - this is the 8th example on site, all unsigned - probably due to lack of space on the back of the design to attach the usual plaque.
