Reference: Advertised for sale at JJ Haggarty, price $16.95, in the Los Angeles Times, 9 Nov 1941, p 67; click thumbnail above to view advertisement. Patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer Louis Mazer, filed Sept, granted Dec 1940. Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 1 p 242. The mark is the patent application number (wrong - it should be 95440), filed 27 Sept 1940, dating this to between then and the issue of the patent on 10 Dec 1940.
