Reference: Mark, design, construction, use of Sterling date this to 1942-47. The fall 1946 Nettie Rosenstein collection, described in Women's Wear Daily 19 July 1946, p 29, included a 'rhinestone studded opera slipper pin worn in scatter fashion', a 'true conversation piece if worn on the upturned collars that will be prominent this fall'
