Reference: This is identical to the 1941 Mazer bowknot pin, for which see Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry, p. 227, featured in Women's Wear Daily, 29 Aug 1941, p 19 - click thumbnail above to view; and MAZ133. This was made by Mazer for Ciro, a British company, which opened in NY City in 1938.
