Description: sterling, rhinestones, lucite
Marked: Marner Sterling
Reference: Marner was founded in Providence RI by Julio J Marsella in 1946 - see http://www.milkywayjewels.com/julio_article/julio.html Marsella was granted at least four design patents in 1946-47, some referencing Philippe (eg Des Pat No 147917). This pin is a good quality copy of the 1941 Trifari Bel Geddes patented design, slightly smaller (by about 0.2" in each dimension), in Sterling, presumably in 1946, after the Aug 1941 design patent had expired (3.5 year term). The lucite does not fit as exactly as the original Trifari pieces, for which see TKF6920 and TKF3046
