Reference: Like the Korda 'Thief of Bagdad' and 'Jungle Book' series, this is jewelry inspired by a film - 'North West Mounted Police', 1940, directed by DeMille. Mounties in this period film wore fur hats, not the now familiar flat brimmed stetsons. Advertised for sale at Auerbachs, identifying the manufacturer as Coro, in the Salt Lake [City UT] Tribune, 15 Dec 1940, p 24; click thumbnail above to view advertisement. See COR1852, with both the DeMille plaque and a Coro signature, confirming the advert's attribution.
