Reference: Use of sterling dates this to early 1947. Patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer Adolph Katz, applied for Feb 1947, granted Jan 1948. A similar pin, with musicians on stage, was patented in Nov 1946 (granted also in Jan 1948) - see COR1618.
