Reference: The MB Boucher sterling version of this piece (see BOU1698) part of the Spring 1945 collection described in Women's ear Daily, 19 Jan 1945, p 14: 'there is a nice, subtle touch of humor in some of these pieces, such as the dachshund with a sleek body made entirely of square-cut stones'. Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 1, p. 63, dated 1945, other pieces in an 'extraordinary series of brooches' using these stones and design concept.
