Reference: The Boucher serial number dates this to 1950. Our thanks to Roberto Brunialti for sorting out the dates of the Boucher serial numbers, and generously sharing the information. Ciro of Bond St - a British company - opened its first US branch on Fifth Ave in 1939, expanding to most major cities by the 1960s. It put its stamp on pieces manufactured for it by DuJay, Mazer, Boucher and Trifari throughout that period. Ciro were selling this series of seven breeds of 'black enamel dogs, fired with Rhinestones', price $4.95 plus tax, as noticed in the Los Angeles Times, 10 Nov 1950, p 42; click thumbnail above to view advertisement.
