Description: gold plated base metal, rhinestones, enamelling
Marked: Trifari with Crown (on clip); 41
Reference: Mark, design, construction, and non-use of Sterling date this to 1938-42. Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 2 p 87, all enamel version (and see TKF5853). It is a copy of a Cartier design, dating probably from before the Cartier patent was issued in the US. Patent is reproduced below (scroll down); designer George Bezault of Juvisy-sur-Orge France, for Cartier, applied for in France March 1937, in the US Sept 1937, granted in US July 1938.
