Marked: Duette mechanism marked Coro Duette, Des Pat 1798867; both clips marked Coro (on the body); earrings marked Sterling on screws
Reference: Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 1 p 128, a set comprising a sterling duette and non-sterling earrings, also (as with this set) matching precisely in the enamelling; the mixed use of sterling and base metal in both sets is, as Brunialti suggests, probably due to the mid-1942 date of manufacture, at the change over to Sterling.
